- Preen
- London Fashion Week // Spring 2013
A few seasons ago I was introduced to Preen and fell deeply in love. Having the chance to view the collection first hand at NYFW and see the backstage hustle and bustle was a very blissful experience and made me really appreciate the exceptional craftsmanship. This season Preen returns to its London roots after showing in New York for over 10 seasons. The collection showed at the Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum and proudly boasted some simply stunning looks with a front row audience that included Ken Downing and Taylor Tomasi Hill.
Hair and makeup was left fresh and extremely minimal as we have seen before with hair brushed back off the models faces. As always we see the labels skilled play on the masculine and the feminine with it’s exquisite petal patterns on full display in rosy blush hues. This season brings us sheer on sheer fabrics, crisp white collars, and reptilian patchwork. Relaxed trouser suits were wide legged and exaggerated while dresses reminded airy and light with soft leather worked in. The varied patterns that were heavily featured throughout the collection were anchored by solid trousers and blazers. The last few looks featured silver french foiled lace contributing the the modern lady that Preen has consistently presented.
