Now that the holiday season has come and gone it is time to get everything in order and return to regular daily life. I have already begun attempting to wake up at a normal hour to prepare for my 6am mornings as I have been informed that 1pm is not a proper time to wake up. Monday sees the start of my final semester of school as well as the tedious task of applying to internships for the spring. Add to that work, events and play and I am finally starting to feel real life come back to me. Oddly enough I am not a huge fan of having an excess of down time and I like having a busy life as long as I still have time to fit in the people that I care about.
I am particularly excited to get back to blogging regularly again. This fall has been busy and blogging as been thrown on the back burner especially during the holidays. Alas, over the last week I have plotted out some fun things that I extend to implement over the next month so keep your eyes out and as always I love hearing your suggestions and comments so keep them coming.
I usually stick to using my Macbook Pro for pretty much everything but I do have a desktop that I used to use all the time. Today I found myself on it trying to find something and came across a ton of old photos that never saw the light of day from events, runway shows, vacations and parties that I have attended over the past two years.
The photo above I snapped at Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2011 runway show during New York Fashion Week. Daphne Groeneveld just looked so adorable and fresh on the runway that I couldn’t resist. I am so glad that her career has gone in the direction it has and I cannot wait to see her success continue into 2013.
I think I have a not so mild addiction to sunglasses #therearemore

Last week I received a package full of goodies from one of my favourite online Australian retailers, Saboskirt.com and I couldn’t be more excited. I found them after my friend mentioned them on Instagram and found myself looking through every single item.
Everything is great quality and there are so many yummy colours that are so perfectly on trend. Most items feature some sort of detail that manages to set it apart from just a regular sweater or a regular skirt. A perfect example would be the skirt pictured above that they were kind enough to send along with the items that I was gifted. It is a midi length and features high slits that sit over each leg for a fun play on a typical midi. I have been craving a skirt like this since seeing Jessica Stein of TuulaVintage wearing a similar one over a year ago so I was definitely head over heels. I love longer skirts but at 6’ tall I tend to feel as though it looks like I am wearing an overwhelming amount of fabric so the slits break that up perfectly.
They have a ton of cute new arrivals this week so make sure to click here and check them out.
After a morning of getting stung by wasps and working outside in the extreme heat opening my front door to a package from one of my favourite online stores, Saboskirt, was a pleasant surprise. Keep an eye out for these Australian goodies in personal style photos early next week!

I have been receiving quite a few messages regarding a small image I posted of this Instagram photo more or less asking where to get this ‘dress’ or to post a large version of it. Well this isn’t a dress but rather a robe I wear while I get ready haha. It is very frilly and girlie and I suppose it could make a cute dress?

I am always on the hunt for fun girlie flats for the summer which always proves to be a difficult job considering I am a size 10 and flats tends to make my feet look like monsters. The delicate T strap on these glittery black and nude flats from Zara fit the bill perfectly and at $99 they weren’t putting a major hole in my wallet.
You may purchase them online here or at Zara stores.

I hope everyone is outside embracing the heat! I am trying my best but I really do prefer the fall weather this humidity. Is it almost September yet? (Humor me please)

Woke up today with an extremely sore throat proving that once again my plight in life is to always be sick on my birthday.
Now I am off to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the afternoon with my mum so here is hoping that I feel better.

The weather seems to have finally stopped dipping into cold weather territory (knock on wood) and stepped into warmer weather which means I may soon be able to ditch the sweater when I head out for the day. Time to switch around my closets to reflect this amazing weather and toss out any old items from the winter that I won’t be keeping for the fall.
