Wu stayed faithful to his ladylike silhouettes while this time also paying homage to his Chinese roots. Jackets and coats screaming perfection were adorned with opulent detailed patterns while also taking on a distinctively military look. Velvet, silk dipped in ruby red, and smooth leather finishings could be found throughout while tassel earrings added as the finishing touch. The embroidery on the military jackets is flawless as are the Swarovski crystals and luxurious furs that added the perfect pinch of glamour  to this sleeker, tougher version of Jason Wu’s lady.

  • Pre-Fall 2012

Finding inspiration from the 50s and 60s Jason Wu’s Pre-Fall 2012 featured shades of deep blue, warm red tones and teal greens. This season Wu broke away from his typically commercial style and delighted us with a highly detailed and meticulous pre-fall collection.

“Dressing up is the thing now,” admits Wu with a shrug. “People no longer dress for an occasion because every day is an occasion; there’s no hard line between day and evening.” (vouge.com)

Agreed! I refuse to leave the house in sweat pants and old hoodies. I prefer to always have my best foot forward.

My jaw literally hit my desk when I saw these images. Amazingly sweet bursts of color on the “quirky couture” pieces. The floating petal print that was a constant throughout was care of New York graffiti artist Kaws. I cannot imagine anyone not falling in love with his playful flirty designs.

Make sure that you take a gander at the last 3 gowns, truly gorgeous.
