Red Carpet Fashion: every year the red carpet I look forward to the most is for the annual Costume Institute Gala at the MET, which this year honours Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada and the parallels between them and a hypothetical conversation between the two designers. The gala entitled “Impossible Conversations,” attracted designers, musicians, models and actors alike all dressed in the most beautiful designs by the industries best.

Now onto the visual candy - my picks for the best dressed among the ladies. Keep in mind I am fickle and have not seen every look as of yet so I will add to this later tonight. Oddly enough save for a few disasters (Ahem, Mary-Kate Olsen’s hair) I did not notice too many fashion missteps but rather an array of glamorous perfectly put together looks all worthy of the event they graced.

  • Carey Mulligan in custom Prada
  • Emma Stone in custom Lanvin
  • Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren Spring 2012
  • Lana Del Rey in Altuzarra
  • Karolina Kurkova in custom Rachel Zoe
  • Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada
  • Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior
  • Kate Bosworth in custom Prada
  • Nina Dobrev in custom Donna Karan
  • Chanel Iman in Tom Ford fall 2012 with bonus Tom Ford looking dapper. I think I only included her because of him…

By the way, is anyone else loving the dramatic dark berry and chocolate lips that many attendees were donning?

Now time to look at the other lovely ladies that unfortunately did not get to wear Tom Ford at this years Oscars. I kid, I kid - sort of.

  1. Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen (I need to find a close up of that amazing hand embroidery)
  2. Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
  3. Meryl Streep in custom Lanvin
  4. Stacy Keibler in Marchesa (she definitely left the best for last this awards season)
  5. Rooney Mara in Givenchy
  6. Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture
  7. Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace (she rocked that high slit and Brad Pitt made a nice accessory)

Time to share with you my best dressed of the night at this evenings SAG Awards. Emma was my ultimate dream paired with McQueen, Givenchy couture made its first trip over seas and a daring jumpsuit left some people saying ‘nay’ but left me saying ‘yay’. Lastly there was Emily Blunt in Oscar (no one does green like Oscar and boy can she wear green).

  1. Emma Stone in Alexander McQueen
  2. Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture
  3. Rose Byrne in Elie Saab
  4. Emily Blunt in Oscar de la Renta

* Special Mention to Amber Heard for looking fine as hell from the neck down (hair was a big old mess) and to Kaley Cuoco for looking incredible from the waist up (anyone else think the bottom looked like an octopus?)

Some more of my favourite ladies from the 69th annual Golden Globes.

  1. Emma Stone in Lanvin
  2. Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang
  3. Lea Michele in Marchesa (A little much but the dress is fabulous and as always her makeup is flawless.)
  4. Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann (I don’t care what anyone says, she looks fierce and this is the best I have seen her looking years)
  5. Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci Premiere
  6. Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci
  7. Stacy Keibler in Valentino

Fashion Spotlight: Emma Stone has consistently looked amazing at various events over the past month or so. Let us take a moment and appreciate the silver screen darling and my future best friend.

Emma Stone photographed by Natthias Vriens-McGrath for the May 2011 issue of Glamour Magazine. You know, when she first had to color her hair blonde for Spider-man I hated it, but it has grown on me an incredible amount. She looks darling. I also believe that aside from the cheap looking dress this is one of the cutest covers they have had in a long time. I also am not a fan of the button up white collared dress in the last image.

Emma Stone in Calvin Klein at the 2011 Golden Golbes. She looks like Barbie’s little sister. Too cute.
[edit] thank you to every who pointed out during the 20 seconds the picture was not correct that was not a picture of Emma Stone but a gif of Megan Fox looks ridiculous. Didn’t copy the link right obv. hahaha :)[/edit]
