A few months ago while I was perusing the internet I came across the most exciting thing I ever saw - new Sailor Moon anime was to be released in the summer of 2013. Don’t act like you are not also excited because I know you are. Most girls I know - and a few guys for that matter, all wanted to be a specific Sailor Scout at one point or another growing up. I for one wanted to be Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus had long beautiful blonde hair and an adorable bow that matched her little mary jane pumps. Sailor Venus was also the only other scout to have a talking kitty at her disposal and was famous to boot.

Anyways, you can imagine my excitement when two of the loves of my life, fashion and Sailor Moon, were brought together in such an adorable and on trend way. Over the past year the art of fashion illustration has come a long way, becoming increasingly more popular and etched its own spot in our hearts here in the blogging world.

Fashion Illustrator Jerome Lamaar has imagined up a very fun reinterpretation of various popular looks from the Spring 2013 collections. The Sailor Scouts alongside Jem, Daria and Betty Boop rock pieces from the likes of PradaGivenchy, Dries Van Noten, CélineBalenciaga and more.

Just one more thing for me to be jealous of Sailor Venus for.

Lea Michele has once again nabbed herself another major cover and although I am not a fan of said cover image, I must say the inside editorial is lovely.

I have recently become quite the fan of Lea because of her light hearted, always happy and seemingly good natured attitude. He voice is also impeccable and is probably the sole reason that I continue to watch Glee (that and Kate Hudson being a complete hottie).

For her spread she dons garments from DiorLa Perla for Jason Wu, Eres, Stella McCartneyViktor & Rolf and more against a studio backdrop while giving her signature smouldering gaze.

In the accompanying editorial Lea discusses her sexy style, personality, boyfriend, and her not so real feud with co-star Kate Hudson.

On her cleavage-baring style:

These babies are great” [she jokes, pointing to her breasts]. They are my prizewinners. For a while they were out and about, showing off on Broadway every night, then they came to L.A. and were like, ‘No one else looks like me here!’ They were nervous to make their appearance but feel they’ve earned their place. So they asked if they could come out, and I was like, ‘All right, you guys.’ They definitely rose to the occasion, so I’m going to continue to give them more opportunities.

On her personality:

“I am a very outspoken person, and if something makes me uncomfortable, you will know that it makes be uncomfortable, but that’s as far as it goes. I can assure you that [diva rumors] aren’t real. It’s super-frustrating sometimes, and I used to fight back, but now I feel like, You can think what you want to think about me – that’s OK. I have the most amazing fans, friends, and family members who have stood by me, and I know that my cast and crew really enjoy working with me. That’s all that matters.”

On boyfriend, Cory Monteith

“I don’t even remember a time when he wasn’t my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory. No one knows what it’s been like to go through this more than he does. Feeling like you have that net underneath you allows you to jump higher and go farther. He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

On her ‘feud’ with Kate Hudson on set:

“I just heard about that, and it f**king sucks. I want you to know I think you’re amazing. [She went] straight to the top of my list because it was so classy of her to take a minute to [address the rumor], even though we both knew it was the biggest piece of crap in the whole world. I told her ‘I love you, and I adore you. Thank you so much for creating a human moment with me.’”

Red Carpet Fashion: I have been obsessed with Les Misérables eversince I can remember so it is no surprise that I simply cannot wait until the newest feature film is released this month starring Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathway. I remember when I first saw the trailer for the film and heard Anne Hathaway singing “I Dreamed a Dream” as Fantine I instantly began tearing up.

Now enough about the movie and more about the stunning looks Anne Hathaway has been rocking at various premieres and events this past week for the film.

The first look (which is also her most recent look) pictured above was donned at the Les Misérables New York premiere and a daring one it was. Outfitted in a stand out Tom Ford spring 2013 dress and Tom Ford knee high bondage like boots, Anne took a risk that definitely payed off.

The second photo shows her at The Roundhouse in Camden in London for the after party following the world premiere of Les Misérables wearing a spring 2013 dress from Altuzarra accessorized with her custom Casadei midnight-blue satin pumps and a gold Jill Milan 450 Sutter clutch.

In the third photo she wore a dress from The Row’s spring 2013 collection to the Les Misérables screening after party held at Porterhouse in New York City.

Lastly shown is her red carpet look for the premiere of Les Misérables in London. Anne wore a halter Givenchy Couture gown from the spring 2012 collection that some loved and some hated.

So what do you think of Anne’s looks thus far for Les Misérables events? What were your favourite looks?

26 year old Lea Michele has had an amazing year staring on Glee, recording her new upcoming album, becoming the face of Candies and dating her adorable twice her size boyfriend, Canadian Cory Monteith. What a better way to start off another stellar year then as a Flare cover girl?

She never fails to impress me with how far she has come from when she would hit the red carpet during her first season on Glee. She has become one of my favourite young starlets to watch for at every award show and gala red carpet, always showing up in an eye catching look, sultry makeup and striking that signature over the shoulder pose.

For her upcoming spread in Flare, Lea was photographed in Tony Duquette’s Dawnridge Residence in Beverly Hills which made for the perfect luxe backdrop to the glamourous designs she wore.

In the accompanying article Lea dishes on her tattoos, personal style, first album and her Canadian beau.

On how many tattoo’s she has:

“I think about 12. But they’re all very very very little. I have a butterfly with my mom that we got together. This heart on my finger that I got with [my] cousins, that I’m actually in the process of removing, ‘cause it didn’t take well to the red.”

On her personal sense of style:

“I’m very simple with clothes and I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup. I really feel like I’m the only girl who will do a photo shoot and want to take all the hair and makeup off. ‘Cause I like to let my skin breathe and you know, I’m pretty minimal in my wardrobe. “

On working on her first album:

“I’m beginning the process of it. I’m working with some really great writers. I definitely think that it’s a long process. You know, I don’t know when exactly that will happen, but it’s a goal of mine for sure. I want to make sure that it gets a lot of attention. But I’m beginning a very slow process.

On her Canadian boyfriend, Cory Monteith:

“Canada makes some great dudes, and he’s definitely one of them—just the nicest, sweetest guy in the world. And it’s really great that I’ve gotten to go to Victoria and Vancouver a lot—it’s so beautiful.”

Red Carpet Fashion: Is it weird that I was scrolling through red carpet images on my phone, saw this photo and then could not wait to get home and post it simply because it was of the love of my life?

Yes, Emma Stone is the love of my life and if you read my blog regularly you would know this seeing as she appears on here at least once a week.

Here she is at the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York City last night wearing a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 look. The straight off the runway navy-blue satin bustier top and emerald green sequinned pencil skirt was paired with black Louboutin heels. Her look was completed with natural makeup and light bouncy straight locks.

I love a great pant, but sadly at nearly 6’ tall wearing that great pant is not usually an option for me. Even in the winter I spend my days in dresses, skirts and shorts paired with nylons rather than jeans, pants and leggings. It is because of this that I have always related to Taylor Swift’s ultra feminine style. She is pretty much never pictured in pants, especially on the red carpet, opting instead for 50’s style housewife dresses, long gowns and flirty summer dresses.
Harper’s Bazaar has decided to change things up with the country stars look and has styled her in various pant suits and long rompers paired with straight tresses. I love how much older and mature she looks, it is definitely as good change but I am sure it won’t stick.
In the editorial where she dons pieces from Louis Vuitton, Prada, Ralph LaurenLes Copains, and Emporio Armani, Taylor opens up about her prom dress, her style and reading about her break-up’s.

On wanting to wear a gown similar to Gwyneth Paltrow‘s pink Ralph Lauren gown at the 1999 Oscars to her prom:
“I was 15 and going to prom for the first time, and I saw that picture of Gwyneth in the pink gown. I went all over the mall and showed it to all the store owners and said, ‘Do you have anything that looks like this?’ And no one did. So there’s that. That’s a sad story for you.”
On why she loves dresses:
“There’s just something so feminine about a dress. Whether it’s a summertime dress that makes me feel carefree, an evening cocktail dress that makes me feel fancy, or a vintage dress that makes me feel like a ’50s housewife — which I enjoy feeling like, for some reason — I just really like dresses. [I own] hundreds. Because I’m in a predicament where I can’t wear a dress twice or else it’s pointed out in magazines, so unfortunately I have to shop for dresses all the time.”
On reading about her break-up’s
“What I had to learn to do, in order to maintain a general happiness in my life, was to stop reading everything, and then it gets really bad if you go through a breakup and those blogs have these polls asking, ‘Who should they date next?’ And you’re just sitting there staring at the laptop bawling”.

She choose this stunning little black dress from Gucci’s Spring 2013 collection that featured a gold and black beaded collar neckline and paired it with black strappy Gucci ’Lisbeth’ pumps. Her look was finished off with a red-orange lip and a newly brunette up-do.

The blousy sheer top with a keyhole illusion panel featured a stunning feathered skirt with a velvet waistband. As for her hair and makeup she kept it simple opting for a more natural, fresh faced look and clean side swept do.

Red Carpet Fashion: I am aware that I am a little late with this but this past Sunday was the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. For the first time in a long time there were so many stunning looks on the red carpet that it was hard for me to pick a single best dressed. I think the young lady that came the closest to being my favourite of the night was the mother of dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, who wore a white with purple floral embroidery Chanel Resort 2013 dress. When it came to worsted dressed there were not any real tragedies to be found but rather some individuals who fell a little short. Below are some of my favourite looks from the night.

  • Emilia Clarke in Chanel Resort 2013
  • Allison Williams in Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013
  • Morena Baccarin in Basil Soda
  • January Jones in Zac Posen Resort 2013
  • Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood
  • Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli Fall 2012

As always, Emma Stone is perfection and this time lending her red locks to Interview Magazine for their coveted September issue. I for one have been eagerly awaiting the day when we would see the normally sweet as can be Emma take a step towards the dark side and take on an edgier role even if it is just in an editorial.

Emma’s sleek hair and makeup paired with looks from Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Christopher Kane, Haider Ackermann, and Versace alongside neon lights and fog create the perfect futuristic vibe.

In the interview conducted by director Cameron Crowe, Emma talks heartbreak, her frequent co-star Ryan Gosling and the paparazzi after Spiderman.

On heartbreak:

“I was crawling on the floor. I remember throwing up,” says the Spider-Man star. “Like, within the hour. I remember being on the floor… I have never felt anything quite like that. It was so visceral. It’s like someone has killed you and you have to live through it and watch it happen… It was awful.”

On Frequent co-star, Ryan Gosling:

“I’ve asked him to read a couple of scripts. I just really like hearing his viewpoint because I know that it’s never going to be tainted. He’s very much his own person,”

“It has really just been scripts so far, because I only met him two years ago when we did Crazy, Stupid, Love, but it was like meeting a member of your team or something. I really like his brain.”

On the paparazzi after Spiderman:

“Of course, you do have that moment where you want to say, ‘I don’t know why there are eight of you here, and I’d like to have a conversation with you so I can know why you need this picture of me walking around…’ And there are people who start to get really self-defensive and preach to you about why you’re wrong for questioning it. But not everyone is like that, there was this one Hasidic guy who wore a suit, and he was following me around for a while in New York. He was taking my picture, and I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ And he put down the camera and was really nervous and said, ‘This week, People is running a story on you, so I need three pictures.’ And I was like, ‘Well, at least I know why you’re here.’”

Rosie is once again gracing the cover of ELLE UK, this time in Dolce & Gabbana for the coveted September issue. I adore her understated makeup and how simple her long hair has been left. The hair and makeup paired with the simple studio backdrop leave the images focusing on the clothes and Rosie’s natural beauty. However, as stunning as she looks I wish that they would have produced something a little more exciting for such an important issue.

In the accompanying interview with 25 year old former Victoria’s Secret model and Transformers actress she talks beau Jason Statham, struggling with her career and where she is today:

On her desire to have a family with her actor beau Jason Statham:

“I always see myself working, but definitely being a mum will be a big part of me. Look, I think my career is very self-indulgent. It’s all about me. I’m not a doctor, I’m not looking after people, I’m not saving children. I’m in the entertainment business. I’m a model. I’m an actress. So it is very self-involved. I think there is naturally a point where you think, ‘I don’t care about myself as number one any more.’ I want to care about other things.”

On her struggles while trying to launch her career:

“I wasn’t quite tall enough either and I hated it to be honest. There was no individuality, no opportunity to be individuals. I think that people forget you’re human and you just become an object. [In New York] I was constantly reminded that I wasn’t right wherever I went and that was difficult because I’d come from a place where it didn’t matter. For any young girl to be told they’re not good enough, every day, wherever they go…”

On how her struggles shaped who she is today:

“I don’t know, I just had this thing, that this was where I was going, this was the opportunity that life had presented me with. This was my destiny and I wasn’t going to just pack it all in because these people gave me a hard time - and that’s still my attitude now.”

For the ever important September issue, 18 year old supermodel Lindsey Wixson lends her perfectly puckered pout and signature gaped tooth to Flare magazine. Reminiscent of 70’s glamour Wixson wears a mixture of pieces from Prabal Gurung’s fall 2012 collection for the cover.

Making the cover of Canada’s top fashion magazine is definitely another highlight of the year for the young model who has already starred in several campaigns and walked in all the top designers runway shows including a starring role as the bride at the Chanel show.

In the interview accompanying the FendiBalenciaga and Michael Kors clad editorial Lindsey talks backstage, staying grounded and the business of fashion. Check out the highlights below:

On the scene backstage as a model:

“Most of the time I am having fun, but a lot of the times it’s overwhelming. I did the Oscar de la Renta show for resort recently and I didn’t know many of the girls. Everyone has their friends and people who they talk to. I sit back and do my own thing. I mainly talk to girls from my agency because I know them and always see them. It’s kind of hard to get to know the other girls. It’s not like how it used to be where you used to have three days to shoot and editorial. We’re all so crunched for time. I feel like the demand for advertising is so much greater and it’s hard to keep up. It’s great, but it’s nonstop.”

On staying grounded:

“The people around me - especially my parents and my sister, who give me input. I try to visit them every month of every other month, but I’ve been so busy with work. I want to make them proud and I try to keep it pretty modest. The fashion industry always wants something else out of you and you can decide if you want to fall into that or maintain your morals and stay true to yourself. I always think about what the people from my hometown would think of some of my shoots. I care about what my family thinks – they wouldn’t want to see my boobs printed everywhere.”

On the business of fashion:

“The fashion industry always wants something else out of you and you can decide if you want to fall into that or maintain your morals and stay true to yourself. I always think about what the people from my hometown would think of some of my shoots.”

I am always on the fence when it comes to Rihanna and my feelings towards her as a celebrity in general but in the case of her on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar wearing a stunning white Calvin Klein dress, well she has won me over. Throughout the editorial the songstress dons metallic embellished duds from the likes of Tom FordAlexander WangBalmain, and Emporio Armani.
In her interview the young good girl gone bad talks her recent weightless, love and her collaboration with ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown:
On working with Chris Brown:
“We don’t want anything to do with it. I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place.”
On falling in love again:
“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”

On her weight loss:

“I don’t know if there’s something going on with my body right now, but I’m eating everything in life! I miss my ass. It just went away! I need a butt. I have an idea of one, but it’s not living up to its full potential right now.”

I adore Candice and I have loved what I have seen from Katryn but I am not sure how I feel about the South African beauties being cast together. They each look lovely, I mean how could they not in such stunning designs? But I am unsure about them being cast together and how they really mesh in the images. Aside from that I think for the first campaign to not feature Karlie Kloss in five seasons looks pretty spectacular. I fell in love with the pastel and jewel screen garments when I first saw them sashay down the runway in February and I must say that I love them just as much today.

Oscar, you can do no wrong.

By the way, I encourage you to click play below if you have not seen the collection in full on the runway and to click here if you want to see me previously over gushing about my true love, Oscar.
