Red Carpet Fashion: One of the collections that I could not stop gushing about during the fall 2012 fashion weeks was the dark and romantic designs from Gucci. As garments from the collection begin to show up on red carpets and events alike you can only imagine my excitement and this number worn by Bella Heathcote is no exception. At the ‘Once Upon a Time in America’ Gucci Film Foundation premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival she wore a stunning black halter gown that was the perfect nod to her new movie  ‘Dark Shadows’ and paired it with Bulgari jewels and a Gucci clutch.

Dark, ultra romantic with a gothic punch. Gucci creative director Frida Giannini designed a collection for fall 2012 full of deep plums and jewel tones such as sapphire blue, emerald green, citrine and onyx. While overall the pieces were dark these jewelled hues were used in tapestry like patterns, sparse florals and within the embroidery. The show itself boasted a stellar cast including models Natasha PolyKarmen PedaruAnja RubikKasia StrussBette Franke and Sigrid Agren. The use of lush materials such as crushed velvet, smooth leather and an array of luxe feathers could be widely found throughout. Once again this season we see military influences but in this case it was much more subtle and related. Suits were very loose and laid back and hemlines were left unevenly draped. Equestrian pants made another appearance but in this case they were sheer with opulent crushed velvet and paired with crocodile riding boots. With all of that said I would be happy to live out my days in this collection.
