I don’t care what anyone says, I love Miley. I think she has really come into her own and become a bold, brave young woman and I for one cannot wait to hear what she has been working tirelessly in the studio on. Here she is on ELLE UK, making this her first cover for a major UK publication. However, with that said I am not a huge fan of it. I do love the styling but the armpits are way to much of a focal point for my taste.

For the 10 page spread shot at MILK Studios in Hollywood Miley is decked out in looks from Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Saint Laurent and Simone Rocha and more all  while rocking her signature mohawk.

In the article Miley finally dishes on where her relationship stands with fiance Liam Hemsworth:

“We have a house together and dogs, it just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed. But we keep our relationship low-key and don’t talk about it anymore.”

“We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight — into my life and my puppies and my house -– and I just don’t feel they get that privilege any more. Like on my Twitter, I’m much more … not conservative, but you don’t see a picture of my dogs. You don’t get that personal stuff anymore.”

Star of the much anticipated ‘The Great Gatsby’, 37 year old actress Isla Fisher covers Fashion Magazine’s May 2013 issue in a vibrant turquoise Burberry Prorsum dress while showcasing her signature flowing red locks. For the rest of the studio backdropped images Isla dons some stunning pieces such as a figure hugging Peter Pilotto dress and a deep blue Hervé Léger by Max Azria jacket.

Side note: is anyone feeling a Little Mermaid vibe from the cover?

In the accompanying article Isla dishes on meeting Goldie Hawn, working with family and what her and husband Sacha Baron Cohen find funny.

On Meeting her idol Goldie Hawn:

Goldie Hawn is my hero, I just think she is incredibly funny and I love her in every movie. I can’t help it. I just think she is fabulous.. It wasn’t a conversation, it was on a dance floor and she was dancing next to me so I saddled up to her doing some moves pretending it was just a natural progression in my dance moves and I kind of shimmied my shoulders at her for a smile and then shimmied away.”

On working with family members:

“I recently wrote a script with my mom—a thriller—just for fun because I enjoy writing so much. It has involved a lot of gin and tonic, a lot of giggling, a lot of late night emailing back and forth. I highly recommend actually doing something creative with a family member. When you get to know someone creatively you get to know a whole other side to them.”

On what her and her husband find funny:

“Subverting the truth is the funniest thing of all. We laugh about that all the time. It works best when you hit at something that is happening in the world and represent it in a surprising way. Lena Dunham is brilliant at it.”

  • Model: Christina Hendricks
  • Photographer: Max Abadian
  • Stylist: Lawren Sample

In honor of one of my favourite shows, here is the stunning Christina Hendricks on the cover of the May issue of Canada’s Flare Magazine making this her second cover for the publication. Dressed in a vibrant canary yellow dress from Stella McCartney, Christina gives her best come hither gaze that she has become known for on HBO’s Mad Men.

For the accompanying editorial shoot Christina dons garments from the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and more including one of her favourites, L’Wren Scott. Overall the looks had a very 50s, 60s italian seaside vibe that fit very well with Christina’s playful, retro sex appeal and the Beverly Hills home that surrounded her.

Inside the issue Christina talks rejection, paparazzi and starring in Ryan Goslings new film:

On being rejected in the industry:

“I’ve been to a million auditions and have been rejected a million times, so it’s something that I’m used to. You’re either right for it or you’re not right for it. You could leave thinking you had the best audition in the world and they say you don’t look like the person I imagined.”

On Paparazzi:

“I’m not out doing crazy things! I’m just not that famous, to be honest. I get to live a very normal life. I don’t have a situation like Jennifer Aniston, where I have people camped outside my house. I can take the garbage out and walk down the street and have ramen and it’s fine.”

On starring in Ryan Goslings new film ‘How To Catch A Monster’:

“Talk about feeling intimidated. Ryan called me and asked me if I was interested in doing this film and I said: ‘One, of course, yes, and two, why me? And three, I don’t want to disappoint you.’ He’s been fantastic, involving me artistically and letting me be along the road of casting and costume design. I’ve seen story boards and imagery and I’ve heard music. It’s the largest role I’ve ever had, so this is one I’m definitely aware of my anxiety about.”

Every since I saw her in Pirates of the Caribbean I loved Keira. I love her style, I love her attitude, I love her aristocratic look - I love her.

Moving on, here she is on the cover of the latest issue of Marie Claire UK wearing a stunning red Valentino gown and rocking a deep smokey eye.

For the accompanying editorial Keira wears an array of garments from the likes of Gucci, Tom Ford, Valentino, Balenciaga and of course, Chanel.

In the issue on newsstands now, Keira discusses the definition of success, coping with fame and getting engaged to Klaxons keyboard player James Righton.

On how she defines success:

“I’m not sure if I can define success. I think if I get to the end of my life having hurt as few people as possible, making sure the people who mean the most to me know they have been loved, I will be happy. Success in work, whatever work, will come and go.”

On coping with fame in Hollywood:

The machine that allows you to make movies, the trade-off [requires] you to sell it. Selling it means making yourself a public figure. You can’t cultivate the mystery. My problem is I like mystery

On her upcoming wedding to James Righton:

“I could have six weddings. God, that would be expensive. We’ve not big-wedding types. I don’t need to have all that. I’m just trying to enjoy the engagement bit. My parents are together after 40 years. The fights are there, but they love each other. It’s not like the first three months, the frost two years, whatever it is, but I think it gets more interesting, or I hope so.”

The images used for this issue were actually originally published in the March 2013 issue of Marie Claire US. So for a behind the scenes look at the cover shoot and some more from Keira make sure to check out the video below:

  • Photographer: Mariano Vivanco
  • Stylist: Anne-Marie Curtis

For their April issue, on newsstands now, Elle UK has nabbed Barbadian beauty Rihanna to grace their cover and give us some insight into her much talked about private life.

For the dual covers RiRi wore black River Island skirts; one with a Louis Vuitton top featuring their ever popular chequered print and the other with a Prada stole over a Louis Vuitton striped bra. In the inside editorial made up of simple studio images, Rihanna dons monochromatic looks comprised of garments from the likes of Maison Martin Margiela, PradaLouis Vuitton and Givenchy and more.

In the accompanying article RiRi discusses her gun tattoo, Instagram, her new collection with River Island and her now infamous relationship with boyfriend Chris Brown:

On why she got her gun tattoo and telling the truth:

“Everybody wanted to know what was happening in my life. Is she a drug addict? No. Is she an alcoholic? No. Is she a victim? No. That’s when I got the gun. It was a symbol of strength. I’ll never be a victim. That’s why I’m posting pictures of myself smoking pot, to tell the truth about myself. I’ve got so much to think about, why bring all this extra s*** by being dishonest?”

On loving posting pictures of herself and her life on Instagram:

“Well I instagram everything about my life, whether it’s smoking pot, in a strip club, reading a Bible verse – how crazy, I know! – or hanging out with my best friend, who happens to be Chris.”

On her mum disapproving of her naked pictures on Instagram:

“I’m not afraid of any person in this world but her. I’m terrified of her! She called me two days ago and reeled me in about two naked pictures Melissa [her best friend] put up on Instagram – a sneak-peek from a photo book she’s making about me. My mom, she went crazy on me. I was like embarrassed. I felt like I got my ass whupped in front of my class in school! She said, ‘This was like a private moment and you’re just parading this around.” She humbled the f*** out of me.”

On her love of high street fashion and her new collection for River Island:

“High-street shops pay more attention to the kids on the street than to the runways, so in a way I like to mix both. I love a high-end bag or jacket with a simple dress. I just thought, I’m going to make something for everybody – every personality, every body type.”

On wanting a great friendship with Chris Brown above all else:

“…right now that’s just what we want, a great friendship that’s unbreakable. Now that we’re adults we can do this right. We got a fresh start and I’m thankful for that.”

On Chris Brown being the person she loves:

“Stay [new single] is a story about having love that close and wanting it to last forever. You don’t have that feeling with everybody so when you have it you don’t want to let go of it. I would definitely say that he [Chris Brown] is the one I have that kind of relationship with.”

  • Model: Diane Kruger
  • Photographer: Autumn de Wilde
  • Stylist: Erin Walsh

Actress and style icon Diane Kruger graces the very unapologetically girlie cover of the latest issue of Canadian fashion magazine Flare (on newstands now!). On the cover the blonde haired beauty is styled in a red Bottega Veneta Spring 2013 dress (which was also worn by Rachel Weisz and Kerry Washington) with tri-colour Christian Louboutin pumps. I am excited to hear that the premiere of her latest flick ‘The Host’ is coming up on March 29th - not necessarily because I am gunning to see the film but rather because we will be treated to more of Diane’s signature red carpet style.

Oozing of retro charm, Diane gets in touch with her playful side in the studio images accompanying the editoral while donning looks from Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Rochas and of course, Chanel.

In the article Diane discusses her buddy Karl, her beau Joshua, her past and current roles and her love of Twilight.

On her friendship with designer Karl Lagerfeld:

“I’ve known him since I move to Pars when I was 16. He’s very kind and can be very funny and ironic and silly. In difficult moments in my life when I don’t really know who to talk to, I sort of drop by his studio and he knows me well enough to pick up on weird things. He really is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.”

On Joshua Jackson’s career input:

“Nobody knows me better than he does. He knows exactly when I’m faking it and when I’m being sincere.”

On fighting for her role in Inglourious Basterds:

“Every once in a while there comes a part where you feel like it was written for you. And it wasn’t. But I felt like I really cold bring something to it.”

On her character in The Host:

“She’s so complex. She has that Stepford Wife-y kind of niceness yet there is so much more underlying there: rage and anger.”

On being a fan of Twilight:

“I actually happen to be a big Twilight fan, which I’m not embarrassed to say. It sort of appeals to my inner teenage girl.”

  • ELLE US
  • March 2013
  • Model: Taylor Swift
  • Photographer: Carter Smith
  • Stylist: Joe Zee

Since her split with the floppy haired One Direction boy bander, Harry Styles, Swift has been making some very sultry red carpet appearances. Slowly but surely the hemlines are creeping upwards and she is baring more and more cleavage. It would seem like she is finally starting to embrace her early twenties and tall thin frame and wear some garments that properly show it off and I could not be more thrilled for her.

Joe Zee has now taken her from sultry to stylish in her new editorial spread for the March 2013 issue of ELLE US. Styling her in the likes of Louis Vuitton, Proenza Schouler, Burberry, Saint Laurent and Oscar de la Renta. My two favourite looks were  the all pink, ultra girlie Oscar de la Renta outfit and the Saint Laurent skinnies and beaded cape combo. I love seeing her in riskier choices, she is a beautiful girl and has a great shape and height to get away with a lot of really great looks. Here is hoping she takes some queues from Mr. Zee’s styling and keeps it up.

In the accompanying article Swift discusses her insecurity, ex-boyfriends, rumours and the on-going speculation of whom her songs are about.

On her insecurity:

“Middle school was what programmed me to be semi-insecure, like, all of the time.  I didn’t fit in….I’d stand on the outside of the circle but I was never really in.  That’s when I started to realize there’s this thing called rejection.”

On her ex-boyfriends:

“I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at an ex-boyfriend.  Ever.  I’m not a yeller.  I’m not a fit thrower.  If something is done, it’s done.”

On rumours:

“I’m sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I’m chasing somebody who doesn’t like me as much as I like him – people love that angle on me.  They’re like “Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys.  I never chase boys.  They don’t like it!”

On the speculation of whom her songs are about:

“To me it’s just writing songs the way I always have.  It’s me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn’t understand, writing a song, and understanding it better. If people want to dissect the lyrics, that’s their right, but it’s all coming from the exact same place as where I started.  It’s just something I do to feel better.”

ScarJo landed the cover of ELLE UK this month and manages to bring her sexy ‘A’ game back for the cover in which she dons a Victoria Beckham Spring 2013 dress and Manolo Blahnik for Victoria Beckham peep-toe booties

The editorial, shot against only a simple studio backdrop at MILK Studios in NYC , showcases the carefree, tousle haired bombshell in Spring 2013 pieces from the likes of Tom Ford, Jonathan Saunders and Burberry Prorsum. I definitely like the under styled, simple looks that were pulled together which enabled Scarlett’s beauty to be the main focus.

In the accompanying article Scarlett dishes on her former marriage to Ryan Reynolds, kids and her sex symbol status:

On her former marriage to Ryan Reynolds:

“I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It’s hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn’t mean you have to be married… I never think about marriage. Is that weird? The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, ‘Would I get married again?’”

On having kids:

“It’s really not important to me. It has no relevance to me right now. I’m not having kids anytime soon, I’m in a nice relationship, I’m working a lot, and, like I said, it’s not important to me.”

On her sex symbol status:

“I think any woman who is curvy and wears a gown to an event is, like, super sexualized. I mean, at the time I was 18, 19. I was young. I’ve always been curvy. It runs in the family. Throw on an evening frock and it’s like all of a sudden you have boobs and everyone is like: ‘bombshell!’ Instantly it was: ‘The new Marilyn [Monroe].’”

Elle UK has gone through a redesign and I am still unsure as to how I feel about it. The first cover produced with this ‘new look’ seems to have taken some graphic queues from the 90’s, with that said I am interested to see what the next few covers from the publication look like.

On the cover she dons Burberry Prorsum and although I love her wispy light locks I am not sure how I feel about the cover. I mean, what is going on with that jacket? Is it giving the illusion that she has 3 arms or is that just me?

In the seductive spread she wears her own designs alongside Lanvin, Hussein Chalayan, Miu Miu and Manolo Blahnik, while in the accompanying article she discusses her work ethic, running her business, a new chapter in her family, the fashion world and more.

On having a strong work ethic:

“It was never my intention to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I don’t have to work, I need to work. All these people [her fellow fashion designers], they’ve not just been given anything. They’ve worked hard. And I’ve never been given anything either. But I have a good work ethic; David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.”

On why she feels a sense of belonging in the fashion world:

“When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, “They’re here to take David’s picture.”

On running a business:

“You’ve got to trust people. And because I am a control freak, sometimes that’s difficult for me, because I want to micro-manage absolutely everything. I can’t hand over. But I’m trying to do that more. It’s hard because I have such a specific vision.”

on 2013 being a new chapter in the Beckham family’s lives:

“Now David has finished playing for LA Galaxy and we are starting a new chapter in our lives; as a family we are all very excited about what lies ahead for 2013.”

On being handed a plate of yorkshire puddings to take home to her children:

“The kids are going to LOVE me when I walk in with these. You know what they say to me, because I’m not the best cook, although I try really hard? They always say to me, “Mummy, we know that the main ingredient in what you make is love.”’

A few months ago while I was perusing the internet I came across the most exciting thing I ever saw - new Sailor Moon anime was to be released in the summer of 2013. Don’t act like you are not also excited because I know you are. Most girls I know - and a few guys for that matter, all wanted to be a specific Sailor Scout at one point or another growing up. I for one wanted to be Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus had long beautiful blonde hair and an adorable bow that matched her little mary jane pumps. Sailor Venus was also the only other scout to have a talking kitty at her disposal and was famous to boot.

Anyways, you can imagine my excitement when two of the loves of my life, fashion and Sailor Moon, were brought together in such an adorable and on trend way. Over the past year the art of fashion illustration has come a long way, becoming increasingly more popular and etched its own spot in our hearts here in the blogging world.

Fashion Illustrator Jerome Lamaar has imagined up a very fun reinterpretation of various popular looks from the Spring 2013 collections. The Sailor Scouts alongside Jem, Daria and Betty Boop rock pieces from the likes of PradaGivenchy, Dries Van Noten, CélineBalenciaga and more.

Just one more thing for me to be jealous of Sailor Venus for.

This is everything.

Taking its inspirational queues from the 90’s cult hit ‘Clueless’, L.A. brand Wildfox recreates iconic images, looks and scenes from the coming of age film.

As a massive fan of the film I have spent years attempting to create looks that are similar to the ones that inspired my love of fashion and clued me in on the fact that my matching sweatshirt - sweatpants combo’s were not good looks. Last winter alone I wore matching blazer and skirt combinations paired with knee high boots and blown out wispy hair just to feel a little more like Cher.

Wildfox has given us some pieces to quench our thirst without going all out tartan and swaying too much from their graphic branding that has made them popular. Over the knee socks, bright yellows and pale pinks mixed with their signature style and framed by the key ‘Clueless’ locations that we know and love bring this lookbook to life.

As an end note I love that they included the main advertising image as well as Cher’s yellow skirt-suit and ”like, most capable outfit.

  • Model: Lea Michele
  • Photographer: Andreas Sjodin

Lea Michele has once again nabbed herself another major cover and although I am not a fan of said cover image, I must say the inside editorial is lovely.

I have recently become quite the fan of Lea because of her light hearted, always happy and seemingly good natured attitude. He voice is also impeccable and is probably the sole reason that I continue to watch Glee (that and Kate Hudson being a complete hottie).

For her spread she dons garments from DiorLa Perla for Jason Wu, Eres, Stella McCartneyViktor & Rolf and more against a studio backdrop while giving her signature smouldering gaze.

In the accompanying editorial Lea discusses her sexy style, personality, boyfriend, and her not so real feud with co-star Kate Hudson.

On her cleavage-baring style:

These babies are great” [she jokes, pointing to her breasts]. They are my prizewinners. For a while they were out and about, showing off on Broadway every night, then they came to L.A. and were like, ‘No one else looks like me here!’ They were nervous to make their appearance but feel they’ve earned their place. So they asked if they could come out, and I was like, ‘All right, you guys.’ They definitely rose to the occasion, so I’m going to continue to give them more opportunities.

On her personality:

“I am a very outspoken person, and if something makes me uncomfortable, you will know that it makes be uncomfortable, but that’s as far as it goes. I can assure you that [diva rumors] aren’t real. It’s super-frustrating sometimes, and I used to fight back, but now I feel like, You can think what you want to think about me – that’s OK. I have the most amazing fans, friends, and family members who have stood by me, and I know that my cast and crew really enjoy working with me. That’s all that matters.”

On boyfriend, Cory Monteith

“I don’t even remember a time when he wasn’t my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory. No one knows what it’s been like to go through this more than he does. Feeling like you have that net underneath you allows you to jump higher and go farther. He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

On her ‘feud’ with Kate Hudson on set:

“I just heard about that, and it f**king sucks. I want you to know I think you’re amazing. [She went] straight to the top of my list because it was so classy of her to take a minute to [address the rumor], even though we both knew it was the biggest piece of crap in the whole world. I told her ‘I love you, and I adore you. Thank you so much for creating a human moment with me.’”

26 year old Lea Michele has had an amazing year staring on Glee, recording her new upcoming album, becoming the face of Candies and dating her adorable twice her size boyfriend, Canadian Cory Monteith. What a better way to start off another stellar year then as a Flare cover girl?

She never fails to impress me with how far she has come from when she would hit the red carpet during her first season on Glee. She has become one of my favourite young starlets to watch for at every award show and gala red carpet, always showing up in an eye catching look, sultry makeup and striking that signature over the shoulder pose.

For her upcoming spread in Flare, Lea was photographed in Tony Duquette’s Dawnridge Residence in Beverly Hills which made for the perfect luxe backdrop to the glamourous designs she wore.

In the accompanying article Lea dishes on her tattoos, personal style, first album and her Canadian beau.

On how many tattoo’s she has:

“I think about 12. But they’re all very very very little. I have a butterfly with my mom that we got together. This heart on my finger that I got with [my] cousins, that I’m actually in the process of removing, ‘cause it didn’t take well to the red.”

On her personal sense of style:

“I’m very simple with clothes and I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup. I really feel like I’m the only girl who will do a photo shoot and want to take all the hair and makeup off. ‘Cause I like to let my skin breathe and you know, I’m pretty minimal in my wardrobe. “

On working on her first album:

“I’m beginning the process of it. I’m working with some really great writers. I definitely think that it’s a long process. You know, I don’t know when exactly that will happen, but it’s a goal of mine for sure. I want to make sure that it gets a lot of attention. But I’m beginning a very slow process.

On her Canadian boyfriend, Cory Monteith:

“Canada makes some great dudes, and he’s definitely one of them—just the nicest, sweetest guy in the world. And it’s really great that I’ve gotten to go to Victoria and Vancouver a lot—it’s so beautiful.”
