I love summer and the fun shoes that come with it but I have always had an issue with personally wearing sandals and having my toes exposed to the elements. It is because of this that I end up spending half the summer searching for fun flats and slingbacks and cute ways to spice up simple shoes. Last summer I noticed many of my favourite bloggers rocking some cute ankle cuffs and made it my mission to find a pair of my own. I spent a crazy amount of time clicking around the internet in an attempt to find some with no success. Lucky for me the kind people at Chicnova.com contacted me and sent along a pair of adorable adjustable, shiny gold ankle cuffs. I have already worn them many times with black flats and sheer nylons and received many compliments and requests asking where I got them from strangers. I greatly encourage you to click here and grab a pair for your own because at $11.25 a piece they are a steal. Now that the holiday season has come and gone it is time to get everything in order and return to regular daily life. I have already begun attempting to wake up at a normal hour to prepare for my 6am mornings as I have been informed that 1pm is not a proper time to wake up. Monday sees the start of my final semester of school as well as the tedious task of applying to internships for the spring. Add to that work, events and play and I am finally starting to feel real life come back to me. Oddly enough I am not a huge fan of having an excess of down time and I like having a busy life as long as I still have time to fit in the people that I care about.  I am particularly excited to get back to blogging regularly again. This fall has been busy and blogging as been thrown on the back burner especially during the holidays. Alas, over the last week I have plotted out some fun things that I extend to implement over the next month so keep your eyes out and as always I love hearing your suggestions and comments so keep them coming. xx Alexandra  BlogLovin’   :     Twitter    :    Instagram

I have received a lot of messages over the past year asking about what I wear makeup wise and what I would recommend. I plan on eventually making a video and showing you guys how I wear my day to day makeup etc but for now here is a little peek at my current day to day. Not pictured above: I solely use my Naked Palette by Urban Decay with any old liquid liner. I also darken my very pale eyebrows with Tarte’s EmphasEYES pencil. Picture above: NARS ‘Orgasm” blush, Dior Lip Glow colour reviver balm, Benefit BADgal lash, andL’ORÉAL’S BB cream in ‘Fair’. Alright Folks

So after I sit on my bum this afternoon and watch the closing ceremonies I will be back to regular posting. The past few days have been busy and chaotic so obviously my blog has suffered the consequences.

Anywhoooo.

This Friday I am embarking on a road trip to Nova Scotia with a few friends and I will be away until the end of the month. I will try my best to fill my queue up with goodies but don’t expect too much until September (I cracked my Macbook Pro’s screen so it is going to the Apple Doctor). 

My question for you guys is this: Shall I Vlog my trip?

Wanted: Everything at SaboSkirt.com. I have recently become obsessed with the Australian shop and all of their on trend and unique goodies after seeing a friend post images of items she had ordered via Instagram. After sifting through every single item I noticed that not only do they offer the yummiest of hues throughout their stock but each piece is dripping in adorably fun details that make something like a sweater more than just a sweater.  They were kind enough to send me a few items and the quality was amazing. This saggy white knit was one of the items and it is so unbelievably soft and I cannot wait to wear it during my upcoming road trip to Nova Scotia on the cooler nights. I am 6’ tall and I have wanted a soft fluttery maxi skirt for awhile but unless they are sheer and light weight it tends to look like too much. Luckily for me this adorable floral midi skirt was sent along with the knit and it couldn’t fit more perfectly. The skirt also features two high slits, one over each leg so when you walk to flutters delicately around your legs, I really could’t be happier.  Above are some of my current favourite covetable items in stock that I need to get my paws on immediately. Today I found myself on it trying to find something and came across a ton of old photos that never saw the light of day from events, runway shows, vacations and parties that I have attended over the past two years.  The photo above I snapped at Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2011 runway show during New York Fashion Week. Daphne Groeneveld just looked so adorable and fresh on the runway that I couldn’t resist. I found them after my friend mentioned them on Instagram and found myself looking through every single item. Everything is great quality and there are so many yummy colours that are so perfectly on trend. Most items feature some sort of detail that manages to set it apart from just a regular sweater or a regular skirt. A perfect example would be the skirt pictured above that they were kind enough to send along with the items that I was gifted. It is a midi length and features high slits that sit over each leg for a fun play on a typical midi. I have been craving a skirt like this since seeing Jessica Stein of TuulaVintage wearing a similar one over a year ago so I was definitely head over heels.
